Matt Hattenhauer It would be difficult to measure the impact Newman Catholic Schools has had upon my career because some of the best things in life cannot be put into words. From elementary school through Newman Catholic High School being a part of an outstanding Catholic spiritual and academic environment helped form the principles that I use every day as a physician and surgeon. In our community we are fortunate to have excellent parochial and public education. But the Newman Catholic School system provides the added dimension of Christ and the Gospels as a model for our children and young adults.

Looking back at my time as a student in the Newman System I realize now that having had the opportunity to openly practice, question, and live my faith in Christ in the classroom was profoundly important in my career choice and development. Of the many gifts that were given to me by my parents the gift of a Catholic education is by far the most enduring and a gift that I am passing on to my daughter.

Jeny Gustafson I went to St. Anne’s elementary school and graduated from Newman Catholic High School in 1991. I am so grateful for my catholic education. The Newman Catholic schools positively influenced my life in many different ways. Newman prepared me academically by teaching me great study habits and providing a strong core curriculum. The teachers taught accountability and positive attitude which prepared me for future successful learning in undergraduate and graduate school. The values and beliefs established at Newman have carried through to my home and professional life. Newman taught me the value of volunteerism, leadership and commitment. My husband and I plan on sending our children to Newman Catholic schools to reinforce our Catholic faith and share the excellent experiences we were able to have while at Newman.
